This has been one of those days. I can't wait until God closes the door on my secular job and opens a full time ministry job. It just gets so frustrating not being available to help my pastor set up for Sunday, or to participate and or facilitate small groups and ministry meetings. All because of my job.
As frustrating as this is I know that God is using my secular job to prepare me for that position to come.
Come on Jesus...

Josh

So you know prayer must have rocked when your neighbor stops you outside and asks if everything was ok. LOL!!! Mind you I pray constantly, but I like to dedicate at least one night a week to spending some earth shaking prayer time with God. Tonight was the night!
Love it... Tonight was all about Binding and Loosing! Tonight God was moving in my house. The peace and clarity prayer brings is unequal to anything. Spending time with Jesus is the biggest high a person can have. God gave me some great ideas for next year in Children's Church. Come on Jesus!
May His Grace and Peace be with you...
Blessings,
Josh

So I realized that it's been a while since I submitted anything here. Man have I been swamped. Been pulling longer and odd hour shifts at work. Travel has picked up recently and the typical holiday madness has begun. It's amazing to me the amount of money people spend on Christmas gifts. It just shows you where 85% of the economies priorities are - in the superficial here and now. Totally disconnected to God's plan for them.
Oh well... I'll keep praying for them.
Blessings,
Josh

Complete obedience...
It's truly amazing to think about this... Imagine if you will - That God has given you the ability to be a leader. Not just any leader... But a leader in His church. He gifts you with the ability to discern the issues. Finding the strengths and focusing on them. Making note of the opportunities and restructuring them. The outlook is great. The mountains begin to move.
Then suddenly it STOPS. Dead in its tracks. Maybe even getting worse than it was before you became a leader. How awful would that be. Can you imagine, just for a moment, how you would feel???
This is the "what if" that went through my mind today when a dear friend of mine confronted me on one of the biggest points of obedience to God. He made this very clear point... If a leader in the church is obedient in every area but one - they bring a curse onto the ministry.
My area of disobedience... Tithing. The worst part is that I know, I really know what God can do when the Tithe is obediently given. I have lived it. It was at that moment that I knew life was changing for me, right then and there.
God was clearing the chaff to make way for new growth. He used my friend to set me straight. I came home and confessed this area of disobedience to my wife. As we prayed God touched her heart and mine. We promised each other that we would never steal from God again.
To my friend and Pastor, Nathan, I thank you with more than I can ever express. I am eternally grateful that you listened to God's soft voice as you gently rebuked the spirit of selfishness that was upon my finances.
I am so looking forward to what He has in store for us!
Blessings,
Josh

Challenge for Dad's
I challenge all the dads who follow my blog to watch the video below. Then ask yourself this question... What kind of example am I really being?
It's a real wake up call for those of us who are dads.
Blessings,
Josh
